In an effort to teach our students the importance of the Christian virtues of charity, volunteerism, and community, our daycare proudly participates in a number of annual, non-profit fundraising events and efforts. By having the children in our daycare programs participate in these community outreach programs, we strive to strengthen community bonds that enrich the lives of both the children in our care and their families. After all, we know that, as a business, we would suffer if it weren’t for the support of the residents of Newport News, and we look only to give back to the community in the same mutually-beneficial ways.

At Heavenly Haven Day Care, we are immensely proud of our ties with the following social organizations:

  • Adopt-a-Cop – Our relationship with the Adopt-a-Cop program is meant to foster a positive impression of law enforcement officers. It is our goal to provide emotional and spiritual support to those officers who have been physically or mentally affected while in the line of duty.
  • Can Food Drive – Helping those less fortunate than ourselves: our annual can drive is meant to show children of all ages the importance of charitable acts. It is our goal that understanding, compassion, and acceptance are all fostered through our November canned-food drive.
  • Coats for Kidz – Every December we work to help our daycare kids recognize that not all people are as fortunate as they, using the Coats for Kidz program as a catalyst for this important lesson. Our involvement in this worthy non-profit has helped to clothe and prepare hundreds of kids for the Virginia winters.
  • Veterans Day Breakfast – Focusing on our regional and national heroes, our community outreach efforts focus on veterans during the month of November. The children and veterans both enjoy the fellowship, friendship, and bonds that the Veteran’s Day Breakfast provides.
